Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity Program at CEVRO University

One of the main focuses of the European Union for the period 2021-2027 is a systematic emphasis on inclusion. Within the Erasmus+ program, this is one of the key priorities. Inclusion and diversity mean involving the widest possible range of organizations and individuals in international education.

Within all its activities, the Erasmus+ program aims to promote equal opportunities and access, inclusion, diversity, and fairness during the 2021–2027 program period. Organizations and participants with fewer opportunities are central to these goals, and with this in mind, the Erasmus+ program offers additional opportunities and financial support to help them overcome barriers to gaining international experience.

In order to facilitate the easiest possible access to student and staff mobility within the Erasmus+ program, CEVRO Institute emphasizes equal and fair access and opportunities for current and future mobility participants from all backgrounds. This means the inclusion of participants with fewer opportunities, such as those with physical, mental, or health disabilities, students with children, working students, students engaged in professional sports, and students from study fields that are underrepresented in mobility programs.

Financial Support

Erasmus+ program rules allow for the allocation of additional financial support to participants with fewer opportunities:

  • One option is inclusion support based on reimbursement of eligible real costs.
  • Another option is a monthly top-up of the subsistence allowance (up to EUR 250 per month).
  • The final option is support for exceptionally high travel costs.

Flexibility in Mobility Duration

One form of support for participants with fewer opportunities is the provision of short-term blended mobility with a virtual component. This is intended for those who cannot stay abroad for an extended period due to a wide range of possible obstacles and would otherwise be unable to participate in the program.

Effective Use of Resources

Many institutions are building capacities in the field of inclusion support. Communication with these dedicated offices, which can often provide targeted and effective support for students and staff with specific needs, is key. These offices can also better inform the target group about additional support for mobilities within the Erasmus+ program.
